HELP SUPPORT TEXAS HURRICANE SURVIVORS

When disaster strikes, America looks to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to support survivors and first responders in communities all across the country. We are currently seeking talented individuals to help support the hurricane response and recovery efforts in Denton, Texas.

HISTORIC PRESERVATION TECHNICIANS
Historic preservation technicians are responsible for conducting Historic Preservation compliance reviews. They provide assistance to the supervisor and staff on assignments in support of FEMA’s disaster programs by researching historic preservation compliance requirements procedures and guidelines to effectively and expeditiously ensure compliance with appropriate historic requirements. This position closes on 10/22/17.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in Historic Architecture, Architectural History, Architecture, Archaeology OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology, History, Museum Studies, Archeology, Historic Preservation, Architecture, or Cultural Resource Management
• Interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills
• Written communication and computer skills
• Preferred understanding of NEPA and NHPA
• Knowledge of Environmental Laws and Executive Orders is desirable
• Preference given to individuals with prior experience consulting with the State Historic Preservation Office or Texas Historical Commission
